CyckedCycked is a community group devoted to cycle based travel, bike power, and bicycle commuting. We have the ability to have a walking or biking path from Boonville to the coast. The infrastructure is there, lets make it happen! Cycked was founded in June 2011.

Description: Old and new tools used for building, farming and gardening will be on display. Bill welcomes questions concerning their care and use, and he can give basic tool sharpening advice.

Fair-goers are invited to drop their favorite tools off at the table for display.

About the Presenter: In 1973, Bill left grad school, moved to the Anderson Valley, and joined the back-to-the-land movement. He lives off the grid, grows a garden, and is attempting to move toward self-sufficiency. Now retired, he worked as a mechanic for Navarro Vineyards for 28 years.

Animal Husbandry: “What Do I Do With This Fleece?” (2011)

This will be a demonstration of the various steps in preparing a wool fleece for spinning; spinning and plying yarn on drop spindle, Navajo spindle and spinning wheel; and weaving it into fabric on a simple loom. The presentation will be interactive, and questions are encouraged. Spindles and prepared wool from our Shetland and Navajo-Churro flocks in several natural colors will be available for use and/or purchase, and there will be a range of our fabrics and clothing items to see and handle.
