Julie Liebenbaum moved to the Anderson Valley with her partner, Darius Richmond, during the El Nino winter of 1997 in order to learn the arts of homesteading. Together they raise pigs and chickens, cure olives, make wine, put up gallons of produce and ferment what they can in order to eat the best meals possible. They also homeschool their daughter, Bella, and in their spare time own and operate the Boonville General Store in downtown Boonville because they believe all people deserve quality organic foods and, heck, everyone needs a hobby.
Currently a resident of Berkeley, Ananda loves to create food and art at home as much as possible amidst raising two active kids and working with special needs children at an elementary school. A lifelong lover of sour tasting foods, she started doing ferments about 4 years ago and is really interested in the science of fermentation.
